The Legend
A pioneering spirit, a living legend

Why have we paired Sir Ranulph Fiennes with our Great British Rum? In honesty, the two were destined to meet.

Officially recognised as the world’s greatest living explorer by the Guinness Book of World Records, Sir Ranulph Fiennes has lived a life of adventure – though he doesn’t see it that way. He’s just been pulled by the call of the wild, and a quest for the limits of what’s possible.

Yet, calling him an explorer doesn’t quite get across the magnitude of what Sir Ranulph has achieved in his 75 years.

He’s won military medals – French Parachute Wings, medals for the Dhofar Campaign and a bravery medal from the Sultan of Oman – and has twice been awarded the Polar Medal by Her Majesty the Queen. He’s got honorary degrees from a slew of universities, and kudos from charities for his superhuman fundraising efforts. His exploits have crossed generations, and his never-ending search for more saw him named both Man of the Year (1982) and Oldie of the Year (2004).

Prince Charles once said that his admiration for Sir Ranulph was “unbounded”. We happen to agree. The legend that is Sir Ranulph Fiennes deserves a world-beating, boundary-pushing, never-say-die beverage to match his passion for the enduring human spirit.
